TALKING ON A CELL PHONE LEADS TO SEIZURE OF STOLEN PROPERTY

(ORILLIA, ON) On the 13th of September 2013 at approximately 1:30p.m., a member of the Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted a routine traffic stop on Highway 12 and Monarch Drive for a hand held communication device violation.

When the officer stopped a male party driving a Dodge Caravan, she located a 46 inch television in the vehicle and investigation revealed that this vehicle was wanted in connection with a theft at a Walmart Store in Barrie. Further investigation led to Police locating a second male party who was at the Walmart in Orillia and was in the act of committing a theft of stereo equipment. Both males were arrested and all property was recovered.

Cody DECAIRE, 21 years of Muskoka Lakes Township has been charged with two counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, two counts of Breach of Probation and one count of Theft Under $5000.

Kenneth FLEMING 27 years of Bracebridge has been charged with one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime and one count of Theft Under $5000, and two counts of Breach of Probation.

Both males were held in custody overnight and are to appear for a Bail Hearing today.
