Waterloo Region, Ontario – On Friday September 20, 2013 just after 7:30am, police responded to a park area near Tyson Drive in the Bridgeport section of Kitchener.
A person walking in the area contacted police after discovering the body of an adult female.
Following preliminary investigation, police are treating the death as suspicious.
A post mortem examination has been scheduled in Hamilton and Police are currently working toward confirming the identity of the deceased woman.
In partnership with the Coroner’s office, a team of investigators from the Homicide Branch, Divisional Detectives and Forensics has been assembled to probe the circumstances surrounding the death.
The investigation is in the very early stages and no further details are available for release at this time.
The area has been contained as police continue the on-scene investigation.
