Lock it Or Lose It – 798 Vehicles Checked

On Sept 24, 2013, members of the Guelph Police Youth and Crime Prevention unit conducted a ‘Lock It or Lose It’ crime prevention initiative at the eight Guelph high schools. As a result of checking 798 vehicles in the parking lots, 159 violation notices were issued. The majority of violations consisted of drivers/owners leaving their doors unlocked and leaving valuables in plain sight.

The Guelph Police Service continues to receive numerous theft from vehicle complaints from every area of the city. To aid in preventing these crimes from occurring, please remember to lock your vehicles doors and remove valuables from the interior.
