(CLEARVIEW TOWNSHIP, ON.) – On September 30th, 2013 at approximately 4:50 a.m., members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police, Clearview Fire Department and Simcoe County Paramedic Service responded to a motor vehicle collision (MVC) involving two motor vehicles just east of the Town of Stayner on Hwy #26.
An OPP investigation into this collision revealed that a Mazda 4 door motor vehicle operated by a 62 year old male from Wasaga Beach had stopped at a construction zone flag man stop sign when his vehicle was struck in the rear by an east bound transport truck operated by a 44 year old male from Innisfil, Ontario.
The 62 year old male operator of the 4 door motor vehicle and a 57 year old female passenger in this vehicle were both transported to the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in Barrie with serious but non-life threatening injures.
The OPP have charged the 44 year old operator of the transport truck with “Careless Driving†under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
