OPP LOOKING TO RETURN FOUND BIKES TO THE OWNERS

(COCHRANE, ON) As the bicycle season wraps up, the Cochrane Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reaching out to the general public in an effort to return lost or stolen bicycles to their rightful owners.

A large inventory of found bicycles has accumulated at the Cochrane OPP detachment and police are asking anyone who has been the victim of a lost or stolen bicycle to attend the Cochrane OPP detachment to reclaim their property.

A detailed description of the bike will be required by the owner prior to the property being returned. All remaining unclaimed bicycles will be disposed of in the next few weeks.

The OPP would like to remind all cyclists to protect their bicycles from theft by keeping them chain locked or stored away in a secure storage when not in use.
