(Selwyn Township, ON) – On Monday September 1, at approximately 9:15 am Peterborough County OPP received a 911 call to attend a residence on the County Line in Selwyn regarding a disturbance.
Upon arrival officers conducted an investigation at the residence and information was received that a 48 year old female and her common law partner a 44 year old male from Selwyn had been involved in a physical altercation in which the male had assaulted the female and neighbours had overheard the incident and called 911.
As a result the male was located shortly after the officers attended and was arrested and charged with, Assault, and two separate counts of Failing Comply with a Probation order.
The male was held in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing on October 2, 2013 in Peterborough Provincial Courts.
