UPDATE- PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUESTED IN LOCATING MISSING MALE

(Casselman, ON) The Russell County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was informed on this day that a body was observed in Nation River in Casselman by a witness. The OPP along with the Casselman Fire Department worked alongside to recover the body. The deceased person was confirmed to be the person reported missing Richard Kennedy.

OPP is treating this as a non-suspicious death at his time. The investigation is ongoing and a post mortem will be held tomorrow.  
The driver of a north bound Chevrolet truck stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of McKenzie Station Road and Highway 11/17. As the driver proceeded to cross the highway, the driver collided with an east bound Ford Explorer. The Ford Explorer rolled several times and came to rest in the ditch.

The driver being the lone occupant of the truck was not injured. There were three occupants in the Ford Explorer, one being a two year old child. The driver and child were not injured. Another passenger in the vehicle was transported to hospital by ambulance with non life threatening injuries. The Ford Explorer sustained extensive damage while the Chevrolet truck sustained moderate damage.

The driver of the Chevrolet truck, an 84 year old male from Shuniah, was charged with Start From Stopped Position – Not in Safety contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
