SEVERAL PEOPLE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE CAR COLLISION

(RAMARA TOWNSHIP, ON) – In the early hours of October 4, 2013, emergency services responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Concession Road 2 in Ramara Township.

At approximately 2:40 a.m. a 2008 BMW with 4 occupants was traveling east bound on Benson Side Road which turns into Concession Road 2. The vehicle left the road, hit a tree and then rolled over.

Members of the Rama Police Service and the Orillia Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Detachment jointly investigated this incident. Members of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) Unit also assisted with the investigation. Ramara and Rama Fire departments responded and Rama and Simcoe County Ambulance were on scene and assisted with the injured persons.

All occupants of the vehicle received injuries and all were transported by ambulances to hospital.

A 30 year old Sutton male received serious injuries.

A 26 year old female from Jackson’s Point and a 25 year old female from Beaverton have been transported to Toronto hospitals with life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries.

Mikhail VOROBIEV 26 years of age from Jackson’s Point was arrested for impaired driving.

He has been charged with three counts of Impaired Driving Cause Bodily Harm and three counts of Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle Cause Bodily Harm and one count of Over .80 mg. He was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date of October 15, 2013 in Orillia.
