(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON.) – Members of the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police along with the assistance of a North East Region OPP Canine Unit have charged three persons with drug offences. The charges stem from a vehicle stop for a Highway Traffic Act violation on Highway 11 in Otto Township. The subsequent investigation led to the seizure of methamphetamine pills, marihuana, a firearm and drug paraphernalia. The estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $4,300. The incident occurred at approximately 10:00 p.m. on October 3, 2013.
Charged are:
Marvin BATISSE age 34 of Temiskaming Shores, Ontario with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Controlled Substance, two counts of Drive While under Suspension and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm. He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on December 12, 2013.
Kelly Ann HOWDEN age 24 of Englehart, Ontario with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kirkland Lake on December 12, 2013.
A youth has also been charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of a Controlled Substance. The youth is scheduled to appear at the Youth Justice Court in Kirkland Lake on December 5, 2013.
The Youth cannot be identified due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
