(Prince Edward County, ON) On October 5, 2013 at 1:52am officers from the Ontario Provincial Policeâ€â€Prince Edward County detachment responded to a domestic assault that had occurred at a residence in Picton. The police investigation revealed that the ex-boyfriend of the female victim had broken into her residence and assaulted her while she was asleep. The victim fled her residence to call police. The victim received minor injuries.
A 26-year old Prince Edward County man was arrested at the residence. The accused remains in custody for a bail hearing today in Belleville court charged with the following offences:
Assault, contrary to section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Breaking, Entering and Committing, contrary to section 348(1) (b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Probation Order: Non-Compliance, contrary to section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada (x2)
