O.P.P. Needs Public’s Assistance in Identifying Vessel

(South Glengarry) – The Ontario Provincial Police, Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry detachment are requesting the public’s assistance in identifying a vessel that was found floating in the St. Lawrence river last evening.

Police responded to a call for assistance when a passing vessel heard a distress call at approximately 7:50pm last evening near the Quebec/Ontario border.

O.P.P. vessels along with the RCMP, SQ, Akwesasne Mohawk Police, Coast Guard and the JRCC (Joint Recovery Command Center) conducted a search of the area on shore and in the water attempting to locate the operator of the vessel.

The vessel is described as approximately 20feet in length, white fiberglass with a picture of a fish on the side; police are continuing their search for the operator of the vessel.

Anyone who has any information regarding the owner is encouraged to contact their local police detachment.
