As wind turbines continue to be transported throughout various areas of our Municipality, the Chatham-Kent Police Service would like to remind all motorists that upon approaching an emergency vehicle with their lights activated, they are to move over to the right. Pull as close as possible to the right edge of the road, clear of any intersection and stop.
Remember to use your signals to alert other drivers you intend to pull over. For your own safety, check your rear-view mirror, look in front and on both sides of your vehicle. Wait for the emergency vehicle to pass, check to make sure the way in clear and signal before merging back into traffic.
Stay alert and avoid distractions. Please take emergency vehicles seriously. Pull to the right and stop. It’s the law.
