The London Police Service is continuing to investigate 10 sexual assaults that were reported to have occurred between August 26, 2013 and September 22, 2013. Since our last release, a tenth female reported that she had been touched inappropriately on August 29, 2013 at approximately 6:05 a.m., as she was walking in the area of Grey Street near Colborne Street.
A dedicated team of officers was formed to investigate those offences. On Wednesday, October 9, 2013 undercover officers were deployed in relation to this investigation. At approximately 8:15 p.m., a female officer was jogging in the area of Commissioners Road East and Western Counties Road when a male on a bicycle rode by her and touched her inappropriately. A short time later, the male was arrested.
As a result of this incident, a 17-year-old male from London has been charged with one count of sexual assault, contrary to section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada. Attached are two images of different bicycles that are associated to this male.
The investigation is continuing to determine if there is a connection with the recent sexual assaults reported to police.
As previously released, the suspect in the previous incidents was described as:
Male, black with a light to medium complexion, medium build, 5’6†to 5’10†with short black hair. The suspect rides a BMX or mountain bike style of bicycle.
