OPP Investigate Fatal Dirt Bike Collision

(RENFREW, ON) – The Lanark Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision involving two dirt bikes in the Township of North Frontenac. One driver died at the scene while a second male driver has been airlifted from the scene with serious injuries.

Preliminary investigation reveals that two groups of riders were driving dirt bikes on a logging road that runs off Mountain Chute Road at approximately 2:35pm Saturday afternoon when two drivers were involved in a head on collision. One male in his 40’s suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. A second male driver in his 30’s suffered serious injuries and was air lifted from the scene to the Renfrew Victoria Hospital. Officers from the Renfrew OPP initially responded and began the investigation, and will assist the Lanark OPP as they are responsible for policing North Frontenac Township.
