(Huron County, ON) Huron County made it through another long weekend. Officers were kept hopping conducting numerous RIDE checks and responding to calls for service, but luckily no one was badly injured or killed. The theme of the weekend seemed to be alcohol related with calls of mischief and numerous Liquor Licence Act charges being laid.
Generally we are pleased that no one was hurt, however it is disappointing to see the number of people who continue to drink or use drugs and operate a motor vehicle. We saw this happening with underage people as well as older individuals, so all age groups were represented. We will continue to enforce the laws and charge people accordingly. Perhaps then, people will think before getting behind the wheel or into a vehicle with alcohol.
