(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Sunday afternoon October 10th, 2010 a store teller of a business on the east end of Stratford fell victim to a “quick change artistâ€.
The store teller was approached by a male who purchased an inexpensive item using a $50 bill. Upon receiving his change he then used other bills requesting change for them. The male was very calm as he requested change for different denominations. Several transactions took place before the male left the store. A short while later the teller discovered that the cash register was short eighty dollars.
The Perth County OPP is looking for a short male in his mid twenties, heavy build, having a goatee a tattoo on his neck and dark hair above the shoulder in a short pony tail.
The Perth County OPP is warning business owners to be careful when small purchases are made with large bills and they are subsequently requested to make change with other large denominations.
