(TRENT H ILLS, ON) On Saturday October 5, 2013 between 9:45 am and 1:00 pm Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated a report of a break, enter and theft at a residence in Trent Hills, Ontario where a house and a nearby bunkie had been broken into with property stolen.
The female owner of the house on Centennial Lane, Trent Hills reported that jewellery were taken from her home, while her male tenant of the bunkie reported the fishing poles, a jewellery box, a drill and laptop computer were stolen. The loss of jewellery from the female victim is $1,000.
OPP uniform members with the assistance of the detachment Crime Unit and Street Response Team (SRT) continued the investigation and on Tuesday October 15, 2013 arrested two males in connection with the crime.
Joseph G BELL, 21, with no fixed address has been charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
Break and enter to a dwelling house – commit indictable offence
Possession of property obtained by crime
Mischief under $5000
Public mischief
Fail to comply probation order
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is currently in custody at the Central East Correction Centre in Lindsay to appear by video remand on Monday October 21, 2013 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg, Ontario.
Robert Michael Allen TIGHE, 21 from Havelock, Ontario has been charged with break and enter dwelling house – commit indictable offence and possession of property obtained by crime under the Criminal Code.
The accused was released from custody on a promise to appear and an undertaking given to an officer in charge scheduled in the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday November 5, 2013 in Brighton, Ontario
