(McMURRICH/MONTEITH TWP, ON) On Tuesday October 15, 2013 at approximately 12:15p.m an officer from the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police was patrolling Highway 518 West in the Township of McMurrich/Monteith.
A Mazda pickup truck, also travelling on Highway 518 was driving above 50 kilometers per hour over the speed limit.
Police stopped the vehicle and charged Paul CRAWFORD (65) of McMurrich/Monteith Township with race a motor vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario. The driver’s vehicle was impounded for 7 days and his licenced was seized by police and suspended for 7 days.
CRAWFORD is to appear in Sundridge Provincial Offences court on Thursday November 14, 2013.
