During the summer and fall of 2013 members of the Guelph Police Service Drug Unit conducted an investigation in relation to Crystal Methamphetamine being sold in the city of Guelph. During the investigation police became aware of a possible connection between stolen property and the sale and or trade of drugs. On October 22, 2013 a male suspect was arrested as a result of the investigation and police executed search warrants at locations on Cardigan Street, Stevenson Street and Industrial Avenue. Police located various quantities of Crystal Methamphetamine, Cocaine, Marihuana and Psilocybin. Also found at the locations were a large number of tools, bicycles, cellphones and computers believed to be stolen property.
A 32-year-old Guelph male is charged with three counts of trafficking in a controlled substance, three counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000 and possession of a prohibited weapon. He has been held in custody pending a bail hearing on October 23, 2013.
