Christine Portelance Hit Rear End Of Transport – Drunk Driving

(Sudbury) In the early morning hours of 22 Oct 2013; Sudbury O.P.P. officers were called to a collision on Hwy 144 in the Chelmsford area.

Upon arriving officers learned that the driver of a North Bound Hyundai Accent had collided with a North Bound Tractor Trailer in a rear end collision.

Police spoke to the driver of the Hyundai and determined she had consumed alcohol. She subsequently provided a sample of her breath into an approved screening device which she failed.

As a result she was arrested for having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood.

She later provided two samples of her breath into an approved instrument which determined she had more than twice the legal limit of alcohol in her body.

Although the Hyundai accent sustained severe damages there were no injuries in this collision.

Charged with having more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millitres of blood and driving while impaired is Christine Portelance (26 yrs) of Sudbury .

In addition her driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for 7 days.

Portelance is scheduled to appear in court on November 13 , 2013.

The OPP remind all motorists that impaired driving can have serious consequences.
