(Morris Turnberry, ON) On October 24, 2010 at approximately 3:00 am a complainant called the Huron OPP to report that a pickup truck was doing donuts on the roadway in Belgrave. When officers arrived on scene later, they located a pickup truck fitting the description and it was stopped on John Street. The driver of the truck was located asleep at the wheel with the vehicle in drive and running. Inside the vehicle was a quantity of cannabis marihuana. The driver was arrested for Impaired Care and Control and was taken to the Huron OPP Detachment where he met with a qualified Intoxilizer Technician to provide two samples of his breath. The results of the two breath samples confirmed that the driver had more than two times the legal limit of alcohol in his system while asleep behind the wheel.
As a result, Cory CHAPMAN (22) of Morris Turnberry is now facing one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance – Marihuana, one count of Impaired Care and Control and one count of Care and Control Over 80 Milligrams of Alcohol. He will answer to these charges in the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on December 6, 2010.
