OPP CHARGE 19 YEAR OLD WOMAN WITH RACING

(Oro-Medonte, ON) – An officer from the Barrie detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a vehicle that was traveling well over the posted speed limit. On October 24th, 2013 the officer was patrolling Highway 400 within Springwater Township and observed a vehicle traveling in excess of the posted 100km/h speed limit. The officer stopped the vehicle which was being operated at 174 km/h. Halina RYBA ALARCON, 19 years, of Maple, was charged with racing a motor vehicle contrary 172(1) of the Highway Traffic Act. She is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice located in Barrie on December 6th, 2013.

As a result of the charge, RYBA ALARCON’S motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days and her driver’s license was suspended for 7 days.
