(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH EAST, ON) On Saturday morning November 02, 2013, Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to four businesses in the Milverton and Milbank areas that had been broken into.
Investigation revealed that between that sometime between 3 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Saturday November 02, a Restaurant in Millbank, Newton, and Milverton as well as a feed mill in Brunner were broken into and searched. The smash and grab type entries netted the culprit(s) small amounts of cash consisting of float-coin left in tills, but left extensive damage to the premises.
The Perth County OPP would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the Millbank and Milverton area in the early hours of Saturday morning. Small business owners are urged to do the following:
Light up entrances with vandal proof fixtures, new LED lighting is economical & efficient.
Leave some lights on inside your premises.
Avoid displays near windows that could keep a passerby from seeing in.
Keep the exterior of your business free from shrubs and debris that obstruct views.
Keep cash to a minimum with frequent, irregular bank deposits.
Leave empty cash drawers open after hours to prevent damage.
