Barrie Police were called to a north Bayfield St department store for a report of a shoplifter.
Store security arrested a 52 year old male for allegedly stealing approximately $120 worth of merchandise which included candy bars and soft drinks.
Barrie Police investigated the male and discovered he had been charged with shoplifting less that two weeks previous.
The male was arrested for theft under $5000 and transported to the Barrie Police Service where he was held for a bail hearing.
All property was recovered by Store security.
