Dario GONZALEZ – Drive While Suspended, Distracted Driving, Breach, Drugs

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged a male following a traffic stop on Highway 402, near Longwoods Road, in the Municipality of Strathroy Caradoc, Ontario.

On the morning of November 14, 2014, an officer observed a vehicle travelling westbound, and a traffic stop was conducted. The driver was suspended, and he was arrested. Further investigation revealed the presence of a controlled substance in the vehicle.

As a result, 36 year old Dario GONZALEZ, from Sarnia, Ontario, was charged with driving while under suspension, and drive motor vehicle on a highway while using a hand held wireless communication device, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He was also charged with fail to comply with recognizance x2, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He was further charged with possession of a schedule II substance – cannabis marihuana – under 30 grams, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).

The accused was held in custody and will be answering the charges in a London court.
