5 Charged – Break In Instruments, Conspiracy

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged five men in relation to the possession of break in instruments and planning to commit a crime.

Members of the Bracebridge OPP were conducting a RIDE program shortly after 11:00 pm on Saturday night, November 15th, 2014 on Ecclestone drive near Robert Dollar drive in Bracebridge when an approaching vehicle turned around in an apparent attempt to avoid contact with officers.

Police conducted a traffic stop near Muskoka Beach road and subsequently conducted a search of the vehicle, turning up break-in instruments and other property consistent with the commission of crimes.

21 year-old Armandip GREWAL, 21 year-old Avtar Singh SIVIA and 19 year-old Nitan Punkaj THAKUR of Mississauga, ON and 29 year-old Swraj RAI and 18 year old Jaideep SINGH of Brampton, ON have each been charged with one count of

Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence CC465(1)(c)

All five are currently in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
