OPP ARRESTED MALE FOR ASSAULT

(TRENT HILLS, ON) – On Monday November 17, 2014 at about 10: 39 pm, Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a request for assistance from Stirling Rawdon Police Service (SRPS) with a vehicle involved in an incident which occurred in OPP jurisdiction.

OPP officers attended to the area of County Road 38 east of Rylstone Road to assist SRPS officers with a vehicle that had broken down as a result of a flat tire. Officers on scene determined that the male and female and female occupants had become involved in a domestic dispute earlier that evening in Northumberland OPP area at an address on 10th Line East in Seymour Township. The male and female were from Kingston and got into an argument at the residence only to continue the argument while travelling enroute back home.

The 40 year old female was assaulted by the male, receiving minor non-life threatening injuries that did not require medical attention.

A 23 year old male from Kingston, Ontario was arrested for one count of assault under the Criminal Code. He was released on a promise to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice on Tuesday January 6, 2015 in Brighton.

The name of the accused will not be released to protect the identity of the victim.
