Laura SHILLIDAY – Resist Arrest

(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On November 17, 2014 at 8:53 p.m. a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) stopped a motor vehicle on Highway 69 in Carling Township involving a Highway Traffic Act violation (HTA). While speaking to the driver, the officer observed marihuana in plain view and advised the driver to exit the vehicle. The driver put the window up and locked the doors. The officer was unable to convince the driver to comply and was forced to break the window to arrest the driver.

Laura SHILLIDAY, 33 years of age from Howland Township, was arrested and charged with:

1.Possession of a Schedule II substance – under 30 grams contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA)

2.Resist Peace Officer contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

3.Improper number plate light contrary to the (HTA)

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on December 18, 2014 to answer to her charges.
