(BANCROFT, ON) – On November 24, 2014 the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) launched an investigation into a report of a sexual assault.
As a result, on November 26, 2014, a 50-year-old officer of the OPP has been charged with Sexual Assault. He was released on a Promise to Appear and Officer-In-Charge Undertaking to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Bancroft on January 113, 2015.
The officer is has been a member of the OPP for 29 years. He is presently suspended from duty with pay in accordance with the Police Services Act of Ontario. He is not being named to protect the identity of the victim.
