(COLLINGWOOD, ONTARIO) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently charged two motorists with drinking and driving related offences in Collingwood.
On the 27th of November 2014 shortly before 5:00pm, officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle collision involving three vehicles in the area of Pretty River Parway near Highway 26. Interactions with one of the drivers revealed that he was under the influence of alcohol and as such, he was arrested and transported to Collingwood detachment for processing. Charged is 59 year-old Bradley CARLTON of Collingwood, he is facing charges of driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 16th of December 2014.
As well, on the 29th of November 2014 at 7:00pm, an officer on patrols conducted a vehicle stop on Hume Street near Pretty River Parkway. Upon speaking to the driver, it was found that he was under the influence of alcohol and was subjected to a roadside breath test which resulted in a ‘fail’ reading. Consequently, he was transported to Collingwood detachment for processing. Charged is 44 year-old Myles BRADFORD of Wasaga Beach, he is facing charges of driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 16th of December 2014. As well he was charged with a Highway Traffic Act offence of red light-fail to stop.
