(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are continuing an investigation where a Highway 401 collision claimed the life of one female.
On the 3rd of December 2014 at about 5:00 a.m. Leeds O.P.P. officers were called to a collision at eastbound Highway 401, just east of Sharpe’s Lane, Elizabethtown – Kitley Township, Leeds County. An eastbound car lost control, spun out and struck an eastbound transport. A female passenger was pronounced deceased at the scene. The female driver was taken to hospital in Brockville to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.
This collision occurred just west of a series of collisions in Grenville County.
Highway 401 eastbound between North Augusta Road and Maitland Road will remain closed for an undetermined time to allow for the investigation. O.P.P’s Technical Traffic Collision Investigators will be assisting with the investigation.
The investigation continues.
