RIDE Results For Week Ending Dec07

(HALIBURTON, ON) – During the week of December 1st to December 7th , members from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Central Region Traffic Unit conducted 28 R.I.D.E. (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) at various locations within Haliburton County.

Charges and Suspensions

2 Approved Screening Device Tests(ASD)(Drivers who consumed alcohol but breath samples were less than 50mgs)

2 Three-Day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspensions

Officers want to remind drivers that any amount of alcohol can impair one’s ability to drive and that the OPP can issue an immediate roadside driver’s licence suspension to drivers who register a Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) in the “Warn Range” of .05 to .08.

The Haliburton Highlands OPP officers are in full force during the Festive R.I.D.E. campaign running from November 24, 2014 until January 2, 2015 and that R.I.D.E. stops can be conducted at anytime and anywhere in Haliburton County.

If you plan on drinking or consuming drugs, plan to not drive. Instead, arrange for a designated driver, take a taxi, or stay overnight.
