Steven MOSKALYK – Drive While Suspended, No Insurance etc

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A recent vehicle stop conducted by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) resulted in a local driver facing numerous Highway Traffic Act (HTA) related charges.

On December 8, 2014 an OPP officer stopped a vehicle on Cambray Road for a HTA violation. The officer noted that the licence plate did not have a proper validation sticker and investigation revealed that the plate was not authorized for the vehicle to which it was affixed. Steven MOSKALYK, 44 years of age, of Woodville, was charged with both of these offences.

Further investigation indicated that MOSKALYK was driving while under suspension and that he had failed to apply for a permit on becoming the vehicle owner. The officer also determined that the vehicle was not insured and MOSKALYK was subsequently charged with operating a motor vehicle without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, to address these 5 charges on January 13, 2015.
