(Asphodel-Norwood Township, ON) – Late morning Tuesday, December 9th, members of the Ontario Provincial Police Central Region Drug Enforcement Section (DES) and Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) executed a warrant at a residence located on the 8th Line of Asphodel-Norwood Township. Information was obtained by OPP, which led to the issue of a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA).
DES and ERT seized a notable amount of cash as well as a quantity of marihuana, cannabis resin and Percocet.
Charged with offenses under the CDSA are Mr. Christopher ADAMS (age 44) and Mr. Robert CHEW (age 24) both of Asphodel-Norwood Township. Both men face charges of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking for each of the controlled substances seized during the warrant. In addition, both are charged with possession of property obtained by crime in relation to the Canadian currency seized.
The accused are due in Peterborough Provincial Court January 15, 2015.
