(Town of New Tecumseth, ON)- The Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a robbery call with a weapon call received at 10:02pm on the 13 February 2013. The call came from a convenience store on Queen Street South in the Town of New Tecumseth.
Police arrived on scene and immediately set up a perimeter for a search calling in the OPP Canine team and the Emergency Response Team (ERT) as well as activating the Tactical Response Unit (TRU) as a result of the report of a weapon involved.
The two male suspects were wearing black hooded sweatshirts with white bandanas over their faces; they used a handgun in the commission of the robbery stealing a quantity of cash and merchandise from the business. The suspects then fled on foot.
The Nottawasaga OPP Street Crime Unit has concluded the investigation, and an arrest has been made. A young person from the Town of New Tecumseth has been arrested and charged with Robbery with a Firearm and Disguise with Intent. The young person has been held in custody, and will be appearing in court on the 15th of December 2014 for a bail hearing.
