(Town of New Tecumseth & Essa Township, ON)- Between the 10th and 11th of December 2014, officers from the Central Region Traffic Enforcement Unit Barrie and from the Ministry of Transportation converged on the 10th Sideroad through the Town of New Tecumseth and Essa Township to inspect dump trucks.
As a result, 26 Highway Traffic Act charges were laid and three trucks had to be off loaded due to excess weight of 3000KG plus. In summary of the charges, 20 overweight trucks, four truck equipment, and two insecure truck loads.
Nottawasaga OPP has received a number of concerns for the dump trucks travelling on the 10th Sideroad throughout the Town of New Tecumseth and Essa Township. Officers are dedicated to traffic safety including trucks, and will be monitoring that area to ensure trucks are complying with the Highway Traffic Act.
