(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On December 8, 2014 at 2:02 a.m. a member of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was stationary on Highway 69 in Carling Township. The officer conducted a traffic stop as the vehicle’s licence plate failed to be illuminated by a white light. Further investigation revealed that the driver was disqualified from driving.
The driver, Quentin MAKOWSKI, 45 years of age from Windsor, ON, was arrested and charged with the following:
1. Drive while disqualified contrary to the Criminal Code (CC).
2. Improper number plate light contrary to the Highway Traffic Act (HTA).
3. Obstruct plate contrary to the HTA.
The passenger, Robert LABRECQUE, 45 years of age also from Windsor was issued a Provincial Offences Notice for Passenger fail to properly wear seat belt contrary to the HTA.
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound on January 8, 2015 to answer to his charges.
