Fatal Collision Cyclist Struck

(TYENDINAGA MOHAWK TERRITORY, ON)- Tyendinaga Police Service is currently at the scene of a fatal collision involving a minivan and a bicyclist. Officers were dispatched to the collision this morning at 6:45 a.m. The male bicyclist suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the minivan was not injured.

Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are also at the scene assisting in determining the cause of the collision.

Highway 49 is closed in both directions between Lower Slash Road and York Road and is expected to remain closed for approximately two hours.

Initial investigation indicates that both the minivan and the cyclist were travelling northbound when the collision occurred.
