(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – On December 17, 2014 members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting R.I.D.E. on Highway 69 in Pointe au Baril. Shortly after midnight a southbound motor vehicle approached the R.I.D.E. stop. As the officer approached the vehicle an immediate odour of marihuana was detected.
As a result of the R.I.D.E. stop and further investigation with the assistance of the West Parry Sound Crime Unit, a small amount of marihuana and a large sum of Canadian Currency was seized.
The driver Anthony BUTCH, 35, of Toronto was arrested and charged with:
2 counts – Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana as per the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession Property Obtained by Crime, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)
The passenger, Andre BOUGES, 38 years of age from Toronto was arrested and charged with:
2 counts – Possession Schedule II Cannabis Marihuana as per the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession Property Obtained by Crime, contrary to the Criminal Code (CC)
The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Parry Sound to answer to their charges.
