(ADELAIDE-METCALFE TWP, ON) – A call to police from a concerned citizen resulted in a driver being charged for driving while impaired.
On December 19, 2014 at approximately 5:39 p.m. police responded to a traffic complaint from a citizen alerting them of an erratic driver travelling westbound on Egremont Drive in the area of Poplar Hill Road in the Municipality of Middlesex Centre.
Police intercepted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop on Egremont Drive by Kerwood Road in Adelaide-Metcalfe Township. When police interacted with the driver, it was apparent the driver had been drinking and was impaired.
The driver was arrested and brought to a local police detachment for further tests. As a result of the investigation, police have charged 73 year old John HOWDEN of Watford, Ontario with Impaired Driving and Driving With Over 80 milligrams of Alcohol.
The accused was later released from police custody and is scheduled to appear in a London courtroom January 20, 2015 to speak to the charges.
