Speeder Caught With Marijuana

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On January 2, 2015, just before 11:00 a.m., a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer conducted a traffic stop on a Chrysler car for a speed violation, on Highway 401 eastbound near Comber.

During subsequent OPP traffic investigation, the officer detected a strong odour of marihuana, from inside the vehicle. A vehicle search was conducted and resulted in the seizure of a small amount of suspected marihuana.

As a result, the driver, 32 year old Andrew FEDY, from Windsor, has been charged with the following:

Possession of Marihuana, under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Speeding, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act

The driver is scheduled to appear in a Chatham court on February 23, 2015, to answer to the charges.
