(TILLSONBURG, ON.) – On January 11, 2015 at approximately 7:55 p.m., the Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was alerted by two concerned citizens of a suspicious male sitting in an idling vehicle on Concession Street near the area of Demeyere Avenue. The alert citizens had a brief conversation with the male before they left and called police.
Police attended the area and located the vehicle and male who was still seated inside. The driver was subsequently found to be impaired and was arrested. As a result of the investigation, the driver was found to be in possession of suspected marihuana. His driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for 7 days.
Sylvain OUELLET, 47 years old, of Gaspe, Quebec, is charged with the following:
Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle – Over 80mgs
Care and Control of a Motor Vehicle – Impaired
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana
The accused was held for a bail hearing.
