(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 9, 2015 at approximately 8:32 p.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) was conducting a R.I.D.E. program at Main Street and Bridge Street, Rockwood. Officers spoke with the male driver of a 2010 Nissan and believed that alcohol was consumed. A roadside screening test was performed which resulted in a fail. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.
Norman RIVERS age 57 of Guelph-Eramosa Township has been charged with Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on January 30, 2015 to answer to the charge.
