(CENTRE OF WELLINGTON, ON) – On January 11, 2015 at approximately 2:11 a.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on general patrol on John Street at David Street in the Village of Elora, Centre Wellington Township. Officers observed a 2006 Chevrolet stopped at the intersection and watched the driver get out of the vehicle. Upon speaking with the driver police determined that he was impaired by alcohol. He was arrested and transported to a local OPP Operations Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.
James MASCOLA age 25 of Guelph has been charged with Care or Control Impaired and Care and Control Over 80 mgs contrary to the Criminal Code. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on February 20, 2015 to answer to the charges.
