(COLLINGWOOD, ON.) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) recently charged a motorist for drinking and driving offences in Collingwood.
On the 11th of January 2015 at approximately 8:30pm, officers received a call for service about a motor vehicle collision in a parking lot at Second Street and Pine Street in Collingwood. One of the involved drivers left the scene on foot prior to police arrival however was located a short time later and taken into custody without incident. Interactions with this male driver found that he was under the influence of alcohol and as such, he was transported to Collingwood detachment for processing.
Charged is 55 year-old Pierre LAJOIE of Collingwood, he is facing charges of fail to stop at scene of accident, driving a motor vehicle while ability impaired by alcohol and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in blood. He is to appear in Collingwood court on the 3rd of February 2015.
