Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision – Pickup Vs Tractor Trailer

(IROQUOIS FALLS, ON) –Members of the Iroquois Falls Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a fatal motor vehicle collision that occurred on Highway 11, Clergue Township at approximately 9:12 a.m. on January 16, 2015.

The collision involved a southbound pick-up truck and a northbound tractor trailer.

The single occupant of the pick-up truck, Roger Michael LAMBERT, 57, of Iroquois Falls, was confirmed dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer, Jan Betlej, 55, of Lockport, Manitoba, and his passenger, Miroslaw Haczkur, 55, of Winnipeg, Manitoba were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with this ongoing investigation. Iroquois Fire Department and Timmins Ambulance Service both attended the scene.

Highway 11 has been closed in both directions at Highway 67 and Hwy 655. The estimated duration of road closure is unavailable at this time.
