Running Vehicle Alerts Citizens

(TILLSONBURG, ON.) Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to information received regarding a suspicious vehicle with its engine on parked in the area of Delevan Crescent in Tillsonburg on January 20, 2015 at approximately 5:18 a.m.

OPP located the suspect vehicle with 2 male occupants sleeping inside. As a result of investigation OPP arrested the male occupants and seized the stolen vehicle and a variety of property within it. The vehicle was reported stolen on December 24, 2014 from the City of London.

43 year old Kent BARTLETT of Hamilton has been charged with the following:

Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 ~ Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Breach of Probation ~ CCC
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – cannabis marihuana, under 30 grams ~ Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – methamphetamine ~ CDSA
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – cocaine ~ CDSA

43 year old Jeremy TUMBER of Norfolk County has been charged with the following:

Possession Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000 ~ Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)
Breach of Probation (4 counts) ~ CCC
Possession of a Schedule II Substance – cannabis marihuana, under 30 grams ~ Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – methamphetamine ~ CDSA
Possession of a Schedule I Substance – cocaine ~ CDSA

Both males are being held in custody.

The OPP would like to praise the citizens for alerting police to the suspicious vehicle and remind the public to remain vigilant in recognizing suspicious people or vehicles in their neighbourhoods. The public should try to get descriptions, licence plate numbers and direction of travel and report this immediately to their local police service. It is important for this information to get to police when the suspects may still be in the area.
