(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On January 24, 2015 at approximately 2:56 p.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Traffic Management Unit (TMU) were conducting R.I.D.E spot checks on Jones Baseline at Eastview Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township. While at that location, police observed a 2002 Mercedes travelling eastbound on Eastview Road at a speed greater than the posted speed limit. The vehicle was locked on radar travelling at 113 km/h in a 60 km/h zone.
His driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Trevor CHIASSON age 29 of Brant County has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on March 4, 2015 to answer the charge.
