(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON.) – Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County detachment is investigating a motor cycle and car collision at the intersection of Highway (Hwy) #6 and First Line Road, Hagersville, Haldimand County, ON address.
Today, Friday March 13th, 2015 at approximately 12:44 pm a black 2011 Harley Davidson motorcycle being operated by 49 year old Darryl ROBITAILLLE of Haldimand County, ON was southbound on Hwy #6 approaching First Line Road when a black 2000 Pontiac car travelling northbound on Hwy #6 attempted to turn left onto First Line Road. Both vehicles then collided in the intersection of Hwy #6 and First Line Road.
As a result of the collision the 49 year old motor cycle driver sustained life threatening injuries and was transported to hospital by ambulance after receiving emergency medical aid from Haldimand County Paramedics. He was later transferred by Air Ambulance to a Hamilton hospital for further treatment.
The driver of the Pontiac car, identified as 76 year old Mary Farmer of Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation Territory, ON was not injured during the collision. She has subsequently been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with Turn – Not in Safety.
Haldimand County Fire Department was on scene and assisted with the collision.
Technical Traffic Collision Investigators (TTCI are assisting with the investigation.
Hwy #6 is closed to traffic and will be closed for the next several hours to allow for investigation.
