Three Arrested For Firearms Offenses

On March 25, 2015 members of the Waterloo Regional Police Service’s Provincial Anti-Violence Intervention Strategy (Guns and Gangs) team arrested three people on numerous firearms offences. The three persons were arrested on Bleams Road in Kitchener after being observed removing firearms from a storage facility. They were found to be in possession of a prohibited sawed off shotgun, a loaded shotgun and over 100 rounds of ammunition of various calibre. Three adult Kitchener residents, a 32 year old male, a 32 year old female and a 30 year old male have been arrested and charged jointly with: Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – two counts Careless Storage of a Firearm – two counts Careless Storage of Ammunition – two counts Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – two counts Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle – two counts Possession of a Prohibited Firearm with Ammunition In addition, two of the arrested persons face charges of breaching their weapons prohibitions. The three will appear in show cause court today at the Kitchener Provincial court house.
